Sex Crimes and the Vatican

Ho appena finito di vedere il documentario della BBC.


La denuncia del documentario è più che altro rivolta al Vaticano che copre i fatti e mette a tacere vittime, amici e parenti, e sposta i preti di parrocchia in parrocchia pur sapendo che nella nuova parrocchia risuccederà quel che è già successo nella vecchia.

Quando si dice predicare bene e razzolare male.

Un ex monaco benedettino addetto in America proprio a far rispettare il decreto del Vaticano dice che: "If a pay off is needed, or if some kind of a settlement is needed, it's done. We had a $7 million budget in 1996 to do such things"

Il commentatore: "A US report tells us that almost four and a half thousand US priests have been accused of raping or sexually abusing children."

"In 2002 the American Catholic church responded to mounting scandal by setting up an independent body called the National Review Board. Its first job was to study the scale of the problem."

Judge ANNE BURKE (National Review Board 2002-2005) compara la segretezza della chiesa con quella della Mafia.

Former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating: "To resist grand jury subpoenas, to suppress the names of offending clerics, that is the model of a criminal organisation, not my church"

RICK ROMLEY (Former Phoenix District Attorney): "I'd written to Cardinal Sodano, who is the Secretariat of State, and I basically asked him could he instruct these priests to come back, and they just basically returned it, and they said they item's been returned because the sender has refused to accept the correspondence. They did not even open it, they didn't even acknowledge or give me any type of response. They just refused to accept it."

Quindi... 7 milioni di dollari di budget (circa 6 milioni di euro) per pagare chi voleva denunciare. 4500 casi solo in america. Favoreggiamento nei confronti di preti fuggitivi. Occultamento delle prove.

...ora capisco l'importanza della "Famigghia"...

La cosa che più mi fa venire i brividi è il fatto che le vittime, bambini, adolescenti siano semplicemente messi sotto silenzio, senza alcun aiuto, gente che si porterà dentro questi fatti per tutta la vita, che non dimenticherà mai quello che gli è successo. E che sarà sicura di una cosa soltanto: che il suo carnefice non sarà mai punito.

Questo è di un cinismo agghiacciante... nel documentario lo chiamano Damage Control da parte della Chiesa. Io lo chiamerei vomito.
