Funny news from Finland

I continue the tradition started by simoniito collecting the funny news that finnish media spit out from time to time...

Yle makes public a study that (finally) reveals the unimaginable:
Pedestrians at Risk when Crossing the Street
According to the study, pedestrians and cyclists in densely populated areas are at risk of being struck by a car particularly when crossing the street.

Now that we know we will cross the streets paying more attention... :/

  1. Notice some phrases in the article, Monsieur Lapalisse wouldn't have been able to do better.

The elderly are those more at risk.

Accidents happen because the drivers do not notice the pedestrian, says the study.

Azz, and I thought in Finland it was a national sport (a bit like ice hockey) run over pedestrians on the stripes...
